UK charity Climbing Out has chosen Hubken Group to develop a platform so it can deliver its support online for the first time.

Hubken Group are a trusted provider of Learning Management Systems (LMS). The team at Hubken have developed an innovative Moodle-based e-learning platform for the charity to use. The online platform will allow Climbing Out to reach more people with its life-changing support.

Climbing Out empowers adults following a life-changing injury, illness or trauma. Up until now, this has been delivered through 5-day residential programmes across the UK, which combine outdoor activities and personal development coaching to a limited number of people every year. The new online programmes will allow the charity to deliver its mind management coaching to an even wider audience, who can complete the programme from home.

Breaking Barriers with Digital Learning

The new Moodle LMS will provide an accessible and structured way for individuals to engage with Climbing Out’s life-changing content from anywhere. Learners will have access to self-paced modules and videos designed to equip them with the tools to help manage their mindset and behaviour following a trauma.

Why Hubken?

Following an extensive selection process, Climbing Out selected Hubken Group as its LMS partner due to the company’s proven expertise in delivering cost-effective, accessible, and future-proofed e-learning solutions for charities.

“We are thrilled to be working with Climbing Out to develop an LMS that will make their essential programmes even more accessible,” said Darren Bindert, Marketing Manager at Hubken Group. “By leveraging our Moodle expertise and user-friendly design, we’re ensuring that learners can easily find and engage with the resources they need. This partnership is about making a real impact and supporting Climbing Out in their mission to change lives.”

The decision to use Moodle was driven by its ability to seamlessly support online learning. With Hubken’s intuitive and exclusive UX design, Climbing Out can efficiently manage their new site, add learning materials, and provide users with an engaging, structured learning experience.

A Powerful Partnership for Growth

Climbing Out is confident that Hubken’s support will ensure a successful transition into a new digital offering.

“From day one, Hubken has understood our ethos and worked closely with us to create a platform that aligns with our values,” said Gemma Aston, Charity Trustee. “It’s fantastic to bring two Shropshire organisations together to create something that will impact so many people. Their support has been outstanding, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.

“There is a certain amount of eligibility criteria to attend our in-person programmes, so to be able to offer an online programme more broadly is a huge milestone for our small charity, and a lasting legacy for the work we do.

“The bespoke LMS that they have created will help us to empower more lives post-trauma. The course can be completed at your own pace, it’s easy to follow, and you can return to the videos to re-watch them whenever you need to.”
