The Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) is the leading professional body and trade union for podiatrists in the UK. It represents and supports thousands of clinicians working across the NHS and private practice, while also setting and upholding professional standards in line with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
A core responsibility for its members is the ongoing requirement to maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD), ensuring clinical practice remains safe, current, and evidence-based. However, with increasing patient demand and heavy clinical workloads, finding time for structured learning and compliance reporting had become a growing challenge.
RCPod identified a strategic need for a modern, centralised digital learning environment, one that could make CPD more accessible, reduce administrative burden, and support its long-term mission of being the UK’s leading source of podiatric clinical knowledge.
RCPod members were working in high-pressure clinical environments with limited time for mandatory CPD. At the same time, the organisation needed to maintain consistent compliance and accurate audit trails across a large, geographically dispersed membership base.
This created several key challenges:
